Brett is an aspiring journalist currently enrolled in the journalism diploma program at Humber College where he is published in the Humber newspaper Et Cetera, and works on projects involving various forms of media. Outside of school Brett is an active creative writer and poet, hobby photographer, lover of board games and dogs.

Daniela is a Toronto-based journalism student, freelance writer, and writer for the Humber Et Cetera. Her love for creative writing has led to intertwining her storytelling skills into her journalistic style. Julie is a journalism student at Humber College. Her main interests are in fashion, music, the environment and social justice. She currently lives in Toronto and plans to travel after graduating college.

Based out of Toronto, Omar is a freelance journalist with a passion for sports, business and music. He is studying journalism at Humber College, where he has had the pleasure of learning from some accomplished journalists in Toronto. Prior to pursuing journalism, he spent many years working for a property developer, where he gained a lot of knowledge related to real estate and the economy and has now carried that over into his writing. He believes that in order to write about it, you have to live it. Omar finds himself in the middle of his stories on a regular basis. If stories do not find him, he finds them. Meeting new people and gaining new experiences helps him to grow as a writer.

Jason is a second-year journalism student at Humber College. He is a regular youtuber who has a variety of videos from vlogs and movie reviews to a collection of short films. If you are interested in checking some of his work out, his channel is, GSF Productions. Jason’s other interests include, superheroes, comics, Star Wars and he is a Raptors fan.

Joseph is a second-year Humber journalism student at the North Campus. Lover of writing, reading and discussing all things sports. He published pieces in many publications on a wide array of outlets. He looks to continue to break into the ever expanding field we call journalism.

Chelsea is the Production Edior for Scribe. She is a fourth-year journalism student at Humber College. Once graduated, she wants to open a Marketing Consulting business.

Michelle, 20, is a second-year journalism student at Humber College. Her brother is a journalist and so was her grandfather, so she feels that journalism is in her blood. She has written for the Humber Et Cetera, and occasionally writes for a website called, Unwritten. She loves to write and loves to speak in front of big crowds. She likes to let people know what’s going on, as she believes that everyone should be in the loop. She is passionate about everything to do with beauty and entertainment.

Chihiro Miya is an international student in the journalism program at Humber College. She has come from Osaka, Japan and has been in Canada since 2014. Her efforts in the journalistic field are to introduce her home country to people around the world. She hopes her experiences will connect the friendship between Japan and Canada, as well as other counties.

Ryann was born in Scarborough, Ont., but was raised in Oshawa, Ont., where her interest in journalism began in 2011 at CHEX TV. While at CHEX, Ryann specialized in sports, working closely with the Oshawa Generals hockey team and Oshawa Power basketball team. She started studying journalism at Humber College in 2015 and since then has interned at Global News, working at the assignment desk, as well as 97.3 Boom Radio developing ideas for online projects. Since her journey at Humber began she has become more interested in the production aspect of things and enjoys using adobe products and creating websites. Although, sports is the beat that will always be close to her heart, she would like to dabble with becoming a backpack journalist in the future.

Kasandra has always been interested in the media. She is a huge reality TV fan and she is very interested in the celebrity lifestyle, which has led to her wanting to be an entertainment reporter for E News! or MTV. Overall, she is an ambitious 19-year-old, who is currently living her life to the fullest.

Olivia is a second-year journalism student at Humber College. She aspires to some day work in the magazine writing industry. Her dream is to have her writing pieces connect with her readers on a deeper, spiritual level. She hopes her words will spark conversation and raise awareness for certain on going issues such as mental health stigmas and racial profiling.

Rachel is an a aspiring journalist who has volunteered with RogersTV as an on air reporter and has done some background studio work. From what she remembers, she has always found news interesting. Rachel feels that being the person with a voice to deliver information and knowledge via newspaper, on screen through television reporting or even radio through the speakers is something beneficial and has the potential to impact to our world. She writes to express herself and to let other people know that they too have a voice.

Christian is a second-year journalism student and his beat is general news. He was born in Toronto, but has lived the majority of his adult years in Brampton, Ont. He decided to choose journalism as his profession, because he likes to hear people’s stories and create content that informs people on events happening in their communities. Issues that matter to him are: freedom of speech, educating voters, race relations, veteran affairs and government transparency.

Charis Tsevis is a Greek visual designer living and working in Pafos, Cyprus.
Charis has graciously given Scribe Magazine permission to use some of his amazing art work to illustrate this magazine. His work fascinated and inspired Scribe’s editors and producers, helping them to bring the innovations of technology to life.
He holds a Diploma in Graphic Design from the Akademie für das Grafische Gewerbe, München and a Master in Visual Design from the Scuola Politecnica di Design, Milano. He manages a modest studio serving clients all over the world. His client list includes companies like Nike, Google, Ferrari, PepsiCo, Toyota and IKEA, advertising agencies like TBWA\Chiat\Day, Saatchi & Saatchi LA, DDB Munich and Leo Burnett Hong Kong and media like Time, Fortune, Wired and the Wall Street Journal. Charis is a visiting professor of Editorial Design and Typography at the AKTO College in Athens since 1996. He has also presented seminars at the Panteion University of Athens and he has given lectures in numerous national and international conferences and symposiums such as the International Conference on Typography and Visual Communication, the TEDx Athens, the Adobe D-Day and many more.
Charis is often writing articles about design theory, aesthetics and history of computing in some highly respected art and IT magazines in Greece (+design, RAM etc). He has also written two books about Adobe Photoshop.
Charis’ work is awarded in ED Awards (Europe), Epica Awards (Europe), NPSA (USA), Behance (USA), EBGE (Greece) and others. He was named for three times in a row as one of the 200 World’s Best Illustrators by Lürzer’s Archive.
His work has been featured in many books, magazines and websites around the world. His art work has been presented in exhibitions in Athens, Barcelona, San Jose and other cities around the globe. Since 2016 Lumas’ is selling series of his art.
