Georgian College badminton players Tammy Do(Left) and Philip Bruce(Right).

Q: Why do you guys play badminton?

A: Tammy- I personally love the sport. It’s  fun and the community itself,  just the exercise and cardio I get from it. It’s a good stress reliever from school.

Philip-I just like playing it. I use to play basketball before never played badminton, came to college and saw them playing it and I just fell in love with it and I’m still doing it four years later.

Q: How long have you guys been playing together?

Tammy-Well we’ve been on the team together for three years but this is our first year actually playing next to each other. I use to play doubles and he was a singles guy for the whole three years.

Q:What do you think of team chemistry?

Tammy: It’s a must. I think that’s what sets us apart from all the other teams.

Philip- You have to have good chemistry to play mixed. If you don’t then it’s literally like 1 against 2 on the other side. And you just gotta know how your partner plays and adapts and I think that’s why we’re so good together.

Q: What do you think of the OCAA?

Tammy- It’s amazing. It’s a family for sure, you see coach’s walking around with babies and then all the players from different schools are helping take care of it.

Philip- Everyone that plays badminton in OCAA knows each other and we even hang out beyond tournaments.
